The Lucky Butterfly

What does it mean when a butterfly lands on you? Is it a message from the spiritual world? Or is it, as many think, a sign of good luck?

It had been another frustrating day. I looked forward to the weekend, even if it was a full 4 days away. As I took the walk that fateful evening, I wasn’t sure what I needed.

The sun, retreating into the embrace of the clouds, left a golden glimmer, a reminder of what had been. It felt like a story I could relate to. A prominent presence now looked upon with a rueful smile.

I was fully aware of the wind in my face, but too tired to think about it. And then I saw it… It was white and purple and blue. It was royal, but it was one of us. I couldn’t look away. Smiling, I drank it all in. It was my peace on a tired day fluttering its wings cheerfully, daring me to dream. A butterfly!

I honestly can’t remember when I last saw something so glorious, or when last I stopped to appreciate mother nature. But I didn’t need to. That week, the news of my promotion came through. In a surprising turn of events, my biggest challenger, who was all but sure of his place, was overlooked by top management.

The story of the butterfly – it’s a story of luck, success and everything that makes for fulfillment!

Lucky #7

What is the Meaning and Symbolism of the Number 7?

In numerology, there are only a few numbers that truly symbolize perfection. The number 7 is one of those figures. It is more prevalent in nature than most of us can imagine. Seven represents perfection, happiness, wholeness, completeness, the highest symmetry, comprehensiveness.

The rainbow has seven colors; there are seven vertebrae in the neck; the skin has seven layers; a cube has seven dimensions; the male body has seven parts; sound has seven notes; we have seven days a week; there are seven continents and seven oceans.

Without a doubt, the number seven is ultra-powerful. Some numerologists even believe it holds so much power that it represents a “door” to the universe. This hardly comes as a surprise as the number seven plays a cosmic role in literally all cultures in world history. Dating back to the Egyptian hieroglyphics where the number appeared more than any number, seven has always represented a good sign. When a baby is born in Iran, even today, seven different aromatic seeds and seven different fruits are placed on a mat, and the baby is typically named on the seventh day.

The Number 7: Secret Meaning and Symbolism

People born under number seven are considered to possess incredible wisdom, confidence, and analytical skills. They constantly seek answers to philosophical questions and are really good at keeping secrets. Their continued quest for answers makes them perfect fit for jobs that require research work; sevens make great analysts, geologists, detectives, astronomers and are skillful with modern technology.

Is Seven a Lucky Number?

Well, the seven gods in Japan bring happiness. According to Hindu philosophy, one can reach the multiverse through seven. So, if you see a string of sevens, you are considered incredibly lucky – this luck brings forth blessings, happiness, and even material fortune.

Before you can get lucky, you need to set goals

But they have luck on their side too. Mayan Lamat sign people easily find success in their endeavors. Like rabbits, their endless quest for stimulation makes them mentally powerful and physically energetic. With these traits, there is desire to indulge in competitive activities and events that stimulate their physical and mental capacities.

The Lucky World of Fireflies

The Firefly – A Dream Symbolism

The firefly has a bland, uninspiring appearance in daylight. In fact, you may not recognize them during the day. But it is a different ball game altogether when it is nighttime. As darkness falls, the insect turns into a beautiful illuminator, bringing glow and magic to a summer night. It is so delightful in the dark and a joy to watch – a stark contrast to its rather unassuming appeal in daylight. But the firefly is more than just a pretty light at night.

The Firefly Symbol

First, the firefly insect teaches us that physical appearance is a ruse; it is what is on the inside that really matters. Fireflies also use their environment effectively, using only the minimum energy they require – a reminder that we should only use what we need rather than doing things excessively. More than this, however, the firefly symbolizes good luck.

If you encounter a firefly in your life, get ready for a spice of magic. If things feel a bit obscure for you, coming across a firefly will give you some form of accomplishment. A firefly entering your life means you have laid the foundation necessary to move forward. This encounter is similar to pulling the Star card from a Tarot perspective.

As your path “lights up” with the firefly insect as guide, you would experience a whole new world of possibilities and positivity. If you, at any point in time, feel very ordinary and plain, firefly disagrees. You are not only a star in the making, but you’ve got fire in your soul. Focusing on your positive attributes will help you fulfill your hopes and dreams.

Four-leaf Clovers

Four-leaf Clovers – A Sign of Luck and Good Fortune

The four-leaf clover is one of the most prominent symbols of good luck in the Western world. Some believe the four leaves represent love, fame, health, and wealth. Others think they represent luck, faith, hope and love. Either way, the four leaves are generally considered one of the most important good luck symbols today.

Indeed, chances that you will find a four-leaf clover is one in 10,000. For its rarity alone, we consider them lucky. Though they are the product of genetic modifications of the white clover plant, this hasn’t stopped people from appreciating and assigning meaning to the clover’s uniqueness. In fact, four-leaf clovers are so appreciated that some have become collectors. One such collector amassed clovers worth $170,000 while she was alive. Another collector has the record for the highest number of four-leaf clovers collected within an hour – a number that stands at 156.

Cultural and Religious Beliefs

In Irish culture, the superstition attached to four-leaf clovers dates back to the Druid priests who used them in healing the sick, warding off evil, and even for ceremonial worship. Tales were also told about how sorceresses went hunting four-leaf clovers in the dark of the night, making the leaves into potions.

Of course, any article about four-leaf clovers will barely be complete without mentioning the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. A firm believer in three-leaf clovers (probably due to the rarity of four-leaf clovers), St. Patrick used the three leaves to illustrate the Holy Trinity doctrine – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is why the clover became a traditional symbol of St. Patrick’s Day.

It is, therefore, reasonable to assume that St. Patrick would have considered the four-leaf clover just as lucky were he able to find it in his lifetime.

The Elephant’s Good Luck Symbolism – Success’ Silent Partner

In many cultures – including modern Western ones, the elephant is considered a symbol of power, wisdom, strength, and good luck. This veneration has grown in popularity over the centuries and the belief that they are a symbol of good luck in particular, has been passed down from one generation to another. But how significant is the honor ascribed to this animal?

There are a variety of opinions relating to the elephant’s trunk and good luck. In Western cultures, it is believed that the trunk of an ornamental elephant should always face upwards. On the other hand, avid collectors in Eastern cultures believe that the trunk should always face downwards, signifying good fortune on the house in which the ornament resides and for those who wear it or walk by it.

For this reason, it is now common to find raised-trunk/downward-trunk elephant jewelry, clothing, and accessories, depending on the cultural beliefs of the people. The ethereal presence of elephants and its connection to humans is now evident in the carvings and statues we see these days. When placed at the doorway or worn as clothing, it is believed they transmit not only good luck, but longevity, knowledge, and success.

What do you think?

Does a raised trunk signify good luck?

Is good fortune transmitted when the trunk faces downwards?

Whatever you may believe, one thing we all seem to agree on is that these amazing and incredibly-sized creatures are a great way to share beauty – and good luck!
